Description:
This exceptional lot features the actual football cleats worn by the legendary Jim Thorpe throughout his Carlisle Indians college career including the memorable game in which Thorpe's Carlisle squad defeated the seemingly invincible West Point team, led by Dwight D Eisenhower, 27-6 to win the National Collegiate Championship.
These cleats, made by Spalding, show incredible use and are custom framed with a plaque for display purposes. The provenance that is provided is impeccable as it traces right back to Jim Thorpe himself via his late wife Patricia. It's an incredible opportunity for some lucky collector to obtain a true piece of Americana.
