Description:
This incredible framed display features "The Key to the City" given to Jim Thorpe by the city of Philadelphia. It's a very unique and personal Jim Thorpe keepsake. This was undoubtedly one of his most prized possessions as Pennsylvania would later name a city after him.
Thorpe began his athletic career in Carlisle, PA in 1907. While at Carlisle, Thorpe competed and excelled in football, baseball, lacrosse, track and field and even ballroom dancing. He was coached by the immortal Pop Warner who was initially hesitant about letting his star athlete play football.
